GENERAL INFORMATION

CONGRESS VENUE: The Military Museum and the Cultural Center, at Harbiye, Istanbul. This building was first built as a War College in 1841. In 1853 it burnt down and following reconstruction was used as a War College until 1936. From 1936-1966 the building was used as the headquarters of 1st and 3rd Army Corps and in 1985 it was restored as a modern Military Museum and Congress Center. Atatürk, the founder of Turkish Republic, was educated in this building.

LANGUAGE: The official language of WORLDLEISH 1 is English. There will be no simultaneous translation.

BADGES are required for admittance to all Congress venues. Only badge holders will be admitted to the sessions and social events.

LETTER OF INVITATION: On request, the congress secretariat will be happy to issue a letter of invitation to attend the congress. However, such invitation will not oblige the organizers to be responsible for the travel or other expenses.

HEALTH REGULATIONS: Visitors to Turkey are not recquired to produce any vaccination certificates on entry, unless they are coming from a country where there is an epidemic.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE will be provided for each participant at the registration desk upon request.

LIABILITY AND INSURANCE: The organizing committee does not accept any responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance and participants are advised to obtain their own insurance policies.

SATELLITE SYMPOSIA: Scientific Associations or commercial firms interested in organizing a sattelite symposium are invited to submit their programs for consideration by the Organizing Committee.

DRESS is informal at all congress events, except the Banquet. Participants are reminded that they should not wear mini shorts, bare-back or low-cut clothing during visits in religious places. The weather is expected to be pleasantly warm and sunny.

BANK AND CURRENCY EXCHANGE: Turkish currency is Lira. Currency exchange is avaliable in banks, private change offices, and most shops. Credit cards are widely accepted.

PASSPORT AND VISA: All foreign visitors entering Turkey must be possesion of a valid passport.
